About

Jake grew up on the west coast of Vancouver island, BC, Canada. Being surrounded by nature and an open minded community helped him to find balance and grounding at a young age. As he grew into a young adult he fell into the influence of the party scene on the golf islands. After 3 to 4 years of heavy drugs and alcohol he became lost inside and needed a way out. This led him to question the nature of reality and why we are here. He knew deep inside there had to be more to life and wanted a new perspective.

He prayed and asked for guidance not sure if any would be given or not but surely it came and he was directed towards the light. This was the beginning of his lifelong journey into the true nature of mind and consciousness. He began reading everything he could find of spirituality, meditation, and self-development.

Two authors Don Miguel Angel Ruiz and Eckhart Tolle affected his way of thinking more than any at the time. They helped him find love for himself and new levels of awareness he had no idea about before.

This path continued and he eventually found a lifelong meditation practice called Shabd yoga which he has been practicing for close to 20 years now. Underground hip-hop was another one of his greatest teachers and helped him through some difficult times.

He was so inspired by the music that he wanted to do the same and help others find meaning like he had. Eventually he started writing his own songs and recording with friends in the Comox Valley. He understood that music would also be a great way to share what he had learned about the mind and consciousness.

After years of his own research into self-development and psychology he decided to go to College and study more to see about a possible career related to these subjects. He connected well with business and philosophy and continued to study these two areas for 2 years.

This was also around the time his friends and him began a non-profit hip hop label called Ocean Fresh Productions. This label helped new artists develop a name for themselves and give them a chance to perform at live events. Through managing this label Jake began to learn about mentoring and coaching others. He continued to read up in these areas to become the best teacher and leader he could.

At the same time of taking college classes he ventured into the world of online business and became an entrepreneur. This was a dream of his and he tried out many different opportunities but never finding much success. He did learn a lot about all the different areas of entrepreneurship though through his own studies for 5 years plus.

After a few years of student loans from College Jake decided to go back to the trades and finish his apprenticeship in Fire Sprinklers. After a few years as an apprentice he also began mentoring his own apprentices until he finally got his red seal ticket in 2018. After he became a fully certified Journeyman in his trade he eventually moved up to foreman and was mentoring and coaching bigger crews of other journeymen and apprentices.

He worked his way up to the second largest company in Vancouver, BC and was given a lot of responsibilities in both management and overlooking all the other details of the position.

In 2023 he left Canada for Japan and began running his own eBay business full-time with his wife. He then learned how useful all this prior knowledge and experience was to truly run his own successful business and cover all his living costs here in Fukuoka, Japan. All the prior accounting and customer service skills as a foreman in a company of close to 100 employees.

So coaching is something which became natural for him and also something he really loved. His grandparents were both teachers as well so it is in his genetics. So if you want to see a clearly defined list of his experience here it is:

  • 2 years business college
  • 5 years entrepreneurship
  • 2 years as a trades foreman
  • 10 years business management
  • 20 years self development & research

Above all the main lesson he has learned is love for all life and so he is always excited to connect with new people and share stories together.
